Avis des parents

We have been at ILA for three years, and while we ultimately chose to attend different schools for personal and familial reasons, we do not regret our choice to send our girls to ILA one bit. Our older daughter started at the creche when she was 1.5 years old, and it has been a joy to watch her progress at ILA. Our younger daughter started at 8 months, and has had a similarly positive experience. There are a few different options for private, French immersion education in the PDX metro, but all of them, save ILA, are very France-centric. ILA is truly a Francophone establishment, and they do an excellent job prioritizing diversity at the school. They excel at this, and also at early childhood education.

ILA is an excellent school. Some language programs at other schools focus on the lanuage acquisition at the expense of other key subjects, but not at ILA. Kindergarten is the main entry point for many kids and by first grade they're taking subject learning in French. My daughter and her classmates have always scored in the highest categories for state standardized testing in English, despite the fact they're taking subjects in French. Very, very happy with the quality of teachers and overall education at ILA!

ILA is a school that I am proud to send my child! The teachers and staff truly care about the children and their growth and development. Each process is designed to not let a student get lost along the way. The interactions with the students also help with social development. With music, PE, general education, and immersion through culture, my child is getting exposed to things far and away what another school could offer. We love ILA!

Our experience has been absolutely wonderful. I have 3 children at the school with the youngest starting in the daycare program (La Creche) to the oldest in Pre-K all of whom are going into their 4 year this fall. From the kids' perspective, they love going to school and adore their teachers. It is really a family environment. From a parent perspective there are a number of things to appreciate. All teachers are credentialed and all maternelle and elementary teachers have MASTERS degrees. They are truly dedicated to teaching not just academics but life skills, respect, empathy, and more. The communication with parents and staff is clear. We get a detailed yearly calendar, frequent emails about curricula and events, and they even started blogs for the class with pictures and videos of the activities. We get to see their progress weekly and quarterly in the work they bring home. The leadership is professional, dedicated, and respectful. Our school has attained accreditation by AdvancED and the students performed in the top percentile on the OAKs exam each year. We love the innovation of the school and its emphasis of broadening young minds. We are so happy we found it!

Unmatched teacher dedication. Our child went from never hearing french to being basically fluent in a year. Plus a commitment to the arts that you just don't get elsewhere. It's a small school, and has some growing pains, but there's nothing close to the value of this school. Great before school and after school options too.

International Leadership Academy is an outstanding French Immersion school for Preschool through 5th grade. ILA is led and taught by brilliant, compassionate and dedicated teachers who take great pride and care in optimizing our children's education. My husband and I couldn't be more happy with the caring environment rich with exceptional curriculum and cultural experiences. We feel honored to be a part of this wonderful community of teachers and families and we feel ongoing pride in the advancement both of our boys have made and continue to make at this school.
